Cult Awareness Workshop

This is the most updated information on the upcoming cult awareness workshop. Only slight changes and additions. The main change is probably that the pre-registration for this event will be $10 for non-CSULB staff, faculty, students instead of $5 as earlier indicated.

A Cult Awareness Workshop to be held at California State University at Long Beach on Friday September 24, 1999 at the University Student Union. It is a half day workshop, from 8:00 am-12:00 pm. The workshop is sponsored by the University Interfaith Center, Student Life & Development, Center for Faculty Development and University Police At CSULB. The registration for this workshop is $10 for non-CSULB staff, faculty, and students.

This workshop is currently being publicized in the local LA area Universities as well as public and private high schools. The target audience are university officials, educators, high school counselors and campus ministers. This is why the event is being held on a Friday morning. Many of these targeted attendees have already committed to attending this workshop as a way to educate themselves about the problems of cult groups on their campuses.

Although the targeted audience are university and high school related specifically, anyone who is interested in this workshop is welcome to attend. That includes, former members, current members, families, friends, local church leaders, or simply an interested party. Former members are strongly encouraged to attend to give a more personal testimony to these school officials.
